EOS P390 Laser sintering
Selective laser sintering (SLS)
SLS or Selective laser sintering is an additive manufacturing technique in 3D printing for rapid prototyping. SLS uses a laser as the power source to sinter powdered material, typically nylon or polyamide. SLS sintering can produce complex and highly accurate geometries at relatively low cost. Therefore SLS is often used for both prototyping and small series production in engineering. The SLS process can be used to substitute functional injection moulded parts. Post processing techniques like sanding and painting can make the prototype represent the final product very closely.
EOS P390 laser sintering creates larger high level plastic components in a single process. The building volume of the machine is 300x300x600mm. The volume allows the efficient production of a broad range of plastic goods. By using the PA 200 the two heated interfaces can be welded together joining them as one.
Ideal for
- Experimental functional prototypes
- Large-size functional prototypes
- Mechanical components with high level performance
- First production batches
- Heat resistant prototypes
DESIGN CHANGES
By using the latest 3D technology there are practically limitless possibilities to create prototypes in variety of shapes and sizes. SLS makes it possible to get extreme dimension accuracy and fine detail. It gives designers and concept development teams the ability to produce parts and concept models easily economically.
